| Brady/TISCOR Enhances Biomedical Equipment Management Software to Include Broad Range of Plant Engineering Functions |
 |
POWAY, Calif. - December 16, 2004 - Brady/TISCOR, an innovator in mobile workforce automation software systems and a leading provider of total facility management solutions, today announced the release of its enhanced biomedical equipment management software system called MEDI-MIZER 12, featuring a special emphasis on plant engineering and maintenance inspections at health care facilities.
The MEDI-MIZER product is a software system that has been used by biomedical equipment technicians at health care facilities for more than 20 years to accurately monitor the safety, performance and preventive maintenance of biomedical equipment. Used with mobile hand-held computers and bar code technology or as a stand-alone PC software, the solution replaces handwritten log sheets, increasing accuracy and efficiency to better comply with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) guidelines.
MEDI-MIZER 12 incorporates users’ requests for expanding the capabilities of the program to include additional plant engineering functions such as the ability to schedule inspections on any type of medical equipment or area at any interval, and quickly create work orders for almost any plant engineering task.
The enhancements offered in MEDI-MIZER 12 allow medical personnel to:
- Schedule inspections by day, week, month, year or season.
- Create work orders for entire systems. This feature provides users with the ability to create work orders for every piece of equipment at a facility.
- Schedule inspections at specific areas. This function enables technicians to schedule inspections at specific areas that need to be consistently monitored.
- Apply enhanced engineering features through the use of Palm Pilots. With the use of Palm Pilots, personnel can record detailed inspection information about equipment and areas, and link a work order to each record type.
“We are very excited to offer the medical industry a comprehensive solution for scheduling and documenting equipment maintenance, facility engineering, or site inspection tasks,” said Gus Sakis, director of medical products at Brady/TISCOR. “MEDI-MIZER is our premier software product and has evolved into a sophisticated system that almost anyone can use.”
