| TISCOR Packs New Features into its FacilityManager CMMS Software |
| Enhanced version 2.4 offers comprehensive paperless solution |
POWAY, Calif. - February 4, 2004 - TISCOR, an innovator in mobile workforce automation software systems and a leading provider of total facility management solutions, today unveiled a further enhanced version of its computerized maintenance manager system (CMMS) called FacilityManager 2.4. Used with Palm Pilots, Windows-based Pocket PCs, or other hand-held devices, the software system offers a paperless solution for facility personnel to plan, schedule and track maintenance management activities including resources, materials, labor hours and costs.
TISCOR, a subsidiary of Brady Corporation (NYSE: BRC), originally designed the software to help companies reduce downtime on equipment, increase equipment life, maximize productivity, simplify the maintenance management process, and increase efficiency.
“Using Palms or Pocket PCs easily allows facility managers to record inspection data at the checkpoint, and later upload that information from the mobile devices to their central databases for quick reference or analyzing,” said Chip Rumis, TISCOR’s Vice President and General Manager.
FacilityManager provides a data transfer feature, which helps in exchanging data between other software databases including Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel, or asset management and accounting software.
The flexibility of FacilityManager also allows for work orders to be generated for both scheduled and unscheduled work on a hand-held device during field use or at the dispatch PC. Estimated and actual labor costs can be tracked to allow for resource planning and cost trending, providing management with true operating costs.
The following enhancements have been added to TISCOR’s FacilityManager application:
- Customizable report logos
- Very flexible yet powerful report writer
- New formats for exporting reports, including a PDF format
- Enhanced client server capabilities (environment) with improved WAN functionality
- Support for international dates and times
- Palm Pilot and Pocket PC device enhancements, including checkpoint bar code replacement in the field, and a new Quick Inspection mode, allowing a pass or fail entry
- Work Order enhancements
- Ability to use a Microsoft Excel template to import records from Excel into the FacilityManager database, eliminating data entry of old records
