Product Overview
iRequestManager for MEDI-MIZER offers independent submission capabilities for biomedical facilities. Now, in addition to calling, faxing, and delivering requests for entering into the MEDI-MIZER system, this user-friendly program gives all levels of facility staff the ability to produce computer-generated work requests. Upon approval, these requests are automatically converted to work orders, without additional data-entry time. E-mail confirmation messages are then sent to the requesters, confirming receipt of the work requests.
Features
There are three quick ways to generate iRequestManager work requests:
Web Browser
Clients using Netscape™ Navigator 4.5 and Microsoft™ Internet Explorer 5 or higher may use and customize the Web template form. (see sample screen below).
LAN/WAN program
This stand-alone application is displayed in a template form similar to the Web Browser template.
E-mail
A standard text-based e-mail template is used to generate e-mail requests from a variety of systems, including non-Windows® workstations.
On-Screen Icon
Requesters select an on-screen icon to quickly access the Web Browser, LAN/WAN, or e-mail forms. All versions of the request form are consistently formatted allowing employees of all levels to rapidly submit work requests from virtually any PC. Requesters may print out copies of the work request form for placing on broken equipment or for retaining in their files.
Site-Specific Instructions
Technicians may use both the three user-defined lines at the top of the form and at the bottom to include site-specific instructions detailing how to complete each request form. Two lines are also provided in the middle of the form for adding the required equipment information instructions. Invalid or incomplete work requests are automatically returned to the requester noting the need for additional information.
Automatic Check for Incoming Requests
Once submitted, the work requests are forwarded to a host computer that automatically checks the incoming requests at user-specified intervals. Responding technicians may filter the requests and accept or deny conversion of the requests into work orders. Work order follow-ups are handled through either a hand-held computer (Symbol Technologies™ SPT 1500/1700/1740 using the Palm® Computing Platform), through the OTIS automated test program, or by a printed work order.
